What does this car say about you?

Sylish, somewhat of a cheap buyer. But I don't care about what a car says about me. It's whether I like it on the test drive and how it fits my needs.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They used to think it was lovely, but get bored of me talking about the new faults and why I left it 10 months before I rejected it.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Absolutely no chance. I saved for 2 years to buy it and it was the worst pile of rubbish I have ever had the misfortune to drive. I felt embarrased to say I put up with the problems for so long. The dualogic gearbox is horrendous.

What are you likely to buy next?

Erm. Just bought another Fiat (Eeeek). 2.4 20v Croma. So far very good.

  • Buying experience

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchise

Did you buy this car new?

    Yes

    What price did you pay?

    £8,195

When did you buy the car?

    January 2007

Did you get a good deal and why?

Great deal. The car had already been ordered by an older couple who then backed out before the car was even delivered. Fiat were stuck with the car, kept their £1000 deposit and sold it to us for what they paid for it.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Wife just passed automatic driving test and believed it was an excellent 'starter' car

    What was the dealer like?

Great to start with, but was 'misled' about the dualogic gearbox that this car comes with.

  • Driving it

    3 out of 5 3.0

    What's it like to drive?

Average small car - not the best, but not the worst.

    What's it like to park?

Excellant. The 'City' mode is a good design.

  • Living with it

    1 out of 5 1.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

You name it. 14 times in 10 months. New gearbox at 3500 miles, new clutch at 2000 miles, new steering rack, loose exhaust, trim falling off, faulty electric window, rear doors not closing, faulty locks on rear doors, and a new fault that Fiat can't diagnose - creaking - as if a boat - from the underside of the car.

What's most practical about your car?

Size. Boot size, whislt still small, is very deceptive.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Air conditioning. Never had it before!
