Other Fiat Panda (2004 - 2011) models:

  • Summary

    2 out of 5 2.0

What does this car say about you?

I'm poor. I'd rather spend money on other things. I know fuel is going to get more expensive etc etc.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Surprised I've given in to practicalities and given up throwing money at the government in road and fuel taxes.

Would you buy this car again and why?

No. It's hard to beat for running costs. It is however a shame that build quality is so poor that lots of repairs eat into those fuel savings. It's been one of the least reliable cars I've had for a while.

What are you likely to buy next?

    Bought a Kia Rio.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £3,000

When did you buy the car?

    August 2011

Did you get a good deal and why?

Seemed to be the cheapest about at the time.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

    I'm poor.

    What was the dealer like?

    Ok

  • Driving it

    3 out of 5 3.0

    What's it like to drive?

It's decent enough for what it is. Dash mounted gear lever works well - nice change.

    What's it like to park?

All cars park the same - it's the driver that differs. Never struggled parking any car I've had.

  • Living with it

    2 out of 5 2.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Occasionally the MIL comes on which clears after 4 starts. Had to change the EGR - it's a dog to get at, and the clutch which is a fairly weak item from a petrol model! Coolant hose leaked. Wheel cylinder leaked.

What's most practical about your car?

Running costs. £30 tax. Grp 4 insurance and 58 mpg on local running. Don't expect too much more on motorways unless you keep below 55mph as it's not really geared for the motorway.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

What??? - it's basic in here. Some rave about city steering but you'll need to have exceedingly small muscles to need it as std steering is very light.
