Ford Escort Hatchback 1.6 Mistral 5d (1994/M) Owner Review

On the road
Driving
This is the kind of car that makes you want to drive fast, with 16’ alloy wheels and a 1.6 16v Efi engine it really does feel like a hot hatch and not a family car.
Performance
Performance is good, but not excellent. The original gearbox on the car was first introduced back in 1980 but the Escort was never upgraded, hence the need to replace the gearbox on the 16v model.

Living with it
Image
If ever there was a car that was made for boy racers this is it! The car is in midnight blue, has alloys, body coloured bumpers, sunroof, tinted glass, spoiler and quadraphonic sound system.
Comfort
The driver’s seat goes up and down as well as the standard movements and it is great for people of all sizes.

Security and Service
Security
The car comes with a factory fitted immobiliser and gearbox bolt lock. I have chosen to have an alarm fitted myself.
