Economy
Value
Good equipment level for the money. Quick-clear windscreen is a God-send in winter. Could do with ABS though.
Costs
It's a Ford, say no more. Low insurance rating and averages 35-40mpg, too!

On the road
Driving
Easy and 'nice' to drive, light yet very precise steering and excellent gearchange. A vast improvement on its predecessor. Good grip, too.
Performance
Adequate enough mid and low-range acceleration and decent high speed cruiser. A good overall package.

Living with it
Reliability
A loyal work horse. Starts first time and has never missed a beat.
Image
Blends in nicely. Not flash, but then far from being a 'joke' brand. Escort can be all things to all people.
Comfort
Good seats and driving position. However, cabin can become a little noisy at speed.

Security and Service
Security
Ford standard alarm/immobiliser. Could have done with deadlocks though.
Service
Local Ford dealer is very helpful.

Problems and Ownership
