Other Honda Accord (2003 - 2008) models:

  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

Not much, but probably you are not doing so well with money.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

    It looks good.

Would you buy this car again and why?

No, I actually don't believe the car performs the way they say, that's not unusual but in this case it is actually dangerous to drive this car because it's so slow. And my car has a full comprehensive Honda service history. The driving position also gives me pain in my legs.

What are you likely to buy next?

I came from BMW, and will most likely go back to them.

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £4,000

When did you buy the car?

    July 2015

Did you get a good deal and why?

    It was reasonable.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Needed a reliable and reasonably priced car for a 90 miles/day commute, mostly on motorway, and the Accord looks good.

    What was the dealer like?

  • Driving it

    1 out of 5 1.0

    What's it like to drive?

It's awful. The 2.0 petrol K20A6 engine coupled with an auto box means that the car is dangerously underpowered. I timed a 60 - 120 kmh (~40-75 mph) run at 12 seconds, foot down. Overtake anything in this car on the motorway is a dangerous task, and I consider myself as a very relaxing driver. I would be surprised if the wheel hp of the car is anything more than 80 bhp. There's simply not enough power to move the car nicely. In terms of performance, it is, hands down, the worst car I have even driven. Handling is ok, but you don't have enough speed or power to take it to the limit anyway. The underpowered performance means that the car struggles to keep motorway speed with even just two passengers in the car, it kicks down from 5th to 4th all the time, even if you are just cursing along.

    What's it like to park?

It's ok, with the sedan it's hard to judge where the end of the car is because you simply cannot see anything out the back.

  • Living with it

    3 out of 5 3.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

I always describe this car as "brilliant and awful". The "awful" part I will explain later. Otherwise, nothing unforeseen had gone wrong, brakes that needed replacing during my ownership and I had to do a anti-roll bar drop link at the rear.

What's most practical about your car?

It isn't a practical car, the boot is small and the interior is OK for this kind of car. There are however, many storage compartments on the interior of the car.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Stereo sounds good, heated seats are nice (I use this car in Sweden).
