In their own words

This is my 5th CR-V and I should have known better than to buy another
The last two were diesels and failed with unrepairable PDF errors that made the cars undrive-able so this time I bought a petrol - 1.5 turbo with 190bhp
So far so good.
My last CR-V also had a soft glass windscreen that marked so easily and so badly it had to be traded in - no damage just undrive-able into the setting sun.
This one has done exactly the same - always looked after but the windscreen material is so soft it has again become undrive-able with lots of pits and marks and scuffs despite my greatest care in looking after it.
It would be about £1500 to have it replaced which is daylight robbery "because the sensors need recalibrating" Seriously?
The rear parking sensor has failed too - generic ones are from £65 ... I appreciate that it is generally best to have original equipment so took it to my dealer - "that will be £1611 please" came the reply
£1611 for a cheap sensor in a little plastic box with some wires hanging out the back of it!
To be fair the car drives nicely despite having a CVT box - Honda have done really well at getting the box sorted.
The paintwork - well lets put it this way - if you breath out as you walk by it the paintwork becomes swirled - you don't need to wipe a cloth in to get that effect the paint is so thin and soft - just breath on it so it seems. Trust me I use the two bucket method and expensive microfibres cloths - nothing can save the paintwork.
So in summary - drives nicely but you will need a new windscreen as they are so soft and it will cost £1500 - the paintwork (on solid colour models I don't have a metallic) will become nastily swirly no matter how careful you are - and if you need a reversing camera which is a known issue because of water damage it will cost you £1611 (you could buy a professional camera and make a living from it for less money!)
