Type of dealer you bought from?

    Didn't buy from a dealer

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £5,550

When did you buy the car?

    March 2013

Did you get a good deal and why?

Yes I would say I had a good deal. The price was good for the condition of the car, I had been to look at several X-types at dealers and found they were asking much more money for cars which were poorly looked after and had many scratches compared to the price I paid for a private sale car with 1 careful owner.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I'm only 21 but I have always loved jags and always wanted to own one. So soon a I got an opportunity I bought the X-Type.

    What was the dealer like?

    N/A

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

It's a real joy to drive, with a 2.2 diesel it's got fantastic overtaking power but has a very soft riding suspension (not the sport model suspension), you can drive really gently and cruise or you can drive it sporty and quick. With Pirelli tyres on the car just holds firm to the road. Only thing I would say is with the manual you do find your self changing gear between 2nd and 3rd numerous times when in a very tight village or town where there's stupid speed numbs and mini roundabouts every 2 yards.

    What's it like to park?

Takes a bit of practise when going from a hatchback to a booted saloon but I found finding a empty carpark after closing time good practice and you soon get use to it BUT I would say parking senses are a must, they are brilliant.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

The power steering pump packed up £120 to fix but it's a part that can go on any age, make or model of car. So it's been great so far, really pleased.

What's most practical about your car?

Huge boot and good towing power.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

    The electric seats and satnav.
