In their own words

This is the third one I have had since 2013. First was a 2.5 auto with rust and headlight adjusters made of cheese. 2nd was 3.0 auto with electrical gremlins and a mind of its own. Current has overcome problems of earlier models under Ford ownership. I would have liked a 3.0 but after 2006 when stupid road tax rules were brought in few were sold as buyers went for planet killing diesels. What a con that turned out to be! Diesel engines should never have been put in Jaguars or front wheel drive. Handling is superb and assured with four wheel drive, rear wheel drive would have been better. Styling is understated unlike other cars with the "retro" look. Rear legroom and boot are a bit small but its a sports saloon. Grandkids love being in "Grandad's car". It is NOT a Mondeo in drag, despite the myths as only parts of the floorpan are shared. It will waft, cruise or fly, but the fuel consumption is a bit heavy at around 28 mpg. When I used to commute about 22 miles each way per day and do regular trips up to Manchester it did about 33. I will not get another Jag when it has to go, unless I have won the lottery by then. It had only done 44K miles when I bought it, and is only up to 105K now in five years.

How reliable do you find the car?

It is expensive to repair unfortunately. Problems: coil replacement, thermostat, lambda sensor, leaky brake master cylinder, leaky gearbox cooling system, tyres don't last that long, new exhaust.
