What does this car say about you?

Land Rover's can say whatever you need them to say. If pushed I would say that it says I am a practically minded individual.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

My friends thought I was crazy to get rid of my V8 (They didn't run it) MY family would not be without one and the neighbours reversed into it.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes. The sheer practicality and heavy duty build.

What are you likely to buy next?

    Land Rover Discovery Series 2

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Didn't buy from a dealer

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £1,200

When did you buy the car?

    January 2010

Did you get a good deal and why?

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

After downgrading from our V8 Discovery Series 2 it seemed the perfect choice. It does everything!

    What was the dealer like?

  • Driving it

    What's it like to drive?

Pulls well and the driving position is second to none.

    What's it like to park?

Easy. They are basically square and no matter how dimunitive you are (My wife is five foot) you can always see the four corners.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

Rust, lots of rust! But they are getting old now. However, this is no reason to chuck it in and buy another. A LR specialist told me it was much more senisble to persevere with the one you have rather than buy another. Panels and sills are cheap.

What's most practical about your car?

IT can do whatever I need it to and with some style! It tows, carries the kids and their clobber and despite everything it is bulletproof. Being a 300 tdi it's cheap to run and can even run on vegtable oil if I need to.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The extra seats in the rear. My kids love them and they do come in handy more often than not. When we are taking elderly relatives out or going on holiday with other family the kids use the back seats leaving the front ones spare.
