• Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

The last two cars have been a Volvo 850R and a Jaguar S type so it's not surprising to have another 'real' car.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Linked to last comment, it's the kind of thing I go for (in addition to a smaller runabout). It's handy for pulling the caravan and trailering other cars to shows etc.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Probably but would have to watch the tax bracket for cars 2001 onwards. Strange how the big gutsy ones which sit about a lot are taxed more than small cars which get thrashed silly but that's a different story.

What are you likely to buy next?

Only just got this one so too soon to tell. Maybe another Volvo..........

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £5,500

When did you buy the car?

    November 2009

Did you get a good deal and why?

Yes, good trade in complete with money back and good service back up.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Always fancied one and decided to do so.

    What was the dealer like?

Friendly, local, dealt with them before when I bought a Volvo R so they have an idea what I look for in a car.

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Smooth, with presence. Don't expect a flying machine and surprisingly economical given it's size, weight and shape. 20'ish mpg. 4 litre the best engine for this model.

    What's it like to park?

Easy if you have confidence and spacial awareness. A good view combined with squared off corners lets you know exactly where you are.

  • Living with it

    3 out of 5 3.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

It's a Range Rover, expect fiddly little things to go wrong e.g. heated mirrors, indicators not flashing when alarm set, etc etc.

What's most practical about your car?

Load space and presence. Also the go anywhere capability (within reason).

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Hmmmm, plenty of them but the air suspension is good.
