In their own words

Seriously, the best car we have owned. We have 2 other Mercedes - a modern E and an SLC. This is still the go-to car for the daily grind. Cheap to run, very reliable, comfortable, fast enough without a turbo and a great auto-gearbox. Fitted with a liner in the 'boot', it takes the dogs, has been to the tip multiple times full of rubbish and towing a big trailer full of the same, it's really the best car in the world. The self-leveling rear suspension works well to keep the rear end up under load. In winter, the heater is putting out hot air within the first few minutes of a cold start, in the summer, the A/C is fine and maintains temperature on the left / right thermostats. Parts availability is as new from Mercedes and being a 'Classic', the cost of most original service items are very reasonable with lots of other parts available all over the internet. The only thing I would replace it with might be an E320 petrol estate - there are still a few very nice, low mileage ones around.

How reliable do you find the car?

Changed 4 glow plugs in 6 years, replaced radiator.
