MINI Clubman (2015 - 2024) 1.5 Cooper 6d Owner Review

Owned this car since 2017, always serviced at mini as required... clocked less than average miles at 52000 as a 9 year old car. Love the equipment spec it has, especially the HUD... comfortable car to drive on a long journey. But reliability is terrible... Over its life there have been some minor issues such as rear doors opening randomly and tyre pressure sensors failing etc... In the last 2 years I've had to fork out thousands £££'s to get it back on the road... 2 years ago a sensor failed costing me £1,800 then in 2024 the manual gearbox failed catastrophically after only 50,000 miles. Mini quoted me £6,000 for a new gearbox plus the investigative work carried out up to that point... Needless to say I refused, took the car out of mini, found another mini specialist non-affiliated garage who fitted a second hand gearbox with 14,000 miles and new clutch for £2500 which then ended up being £3000 because the flywheel was screwed! Only last week the front suspension spring snapped blowing a tyre... needless to say I've had enough and getting shot of it... Bottom line... never buy a mini...!
