Well my sister liked it so much she went and bought her own xsi. That one unfortunately was a bit of a shed.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes, but there are very few left now that have not been 'keved' and in a few years standard 106 xsi's will be non existant.

    Peugeot 406 coupe, 2.0 - pure class

    September 2001

  • Driving it

    What's it like to drive?

Awesome. Not a huge amount of power but it was 100bhp when new. Around country lanes and A roads it is exceptional. But put just one adult male in the passenger seat and the total lack of torque really starts to show. It is also not a motorway car, 4000rpm at 70mph - which is not so nice. Interior is comftable if slightly badly coloured.

    What's it like to park?

    Easy,

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

Paint on roof fading, only minor issues with a car built in 1992.

What's most practical about your car?

Small car, good mpg and low insurance. The simple fact that it's an xsi and not a GTI keeps the insurance down, the performance is apparently as good as the 205GTI 1.6

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

All the electrics such as RCL, windows and mirrors were quite fancy in 1992 and i still appreciate them. Drive the standard version of the 106 and the xsi will blow you away.
