  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

That I have a sunny personality and that I'm very forgetful! Half of the reason that I chosethis car was that it was unusually coloure and that I'd fd it relatively easily in a car park!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They think that it's a gold car. Some like the colour, others don't, but once you're in the car - you don't see the colour! In terms of running - most people note the space for passengers in the back.

Would you buy this car again and why?

I'd probably upgrade to a 207 or 308. For a first car, it's been great...but it's time to move on, so no - I wouldn't buy this car again.

What are you likely to buy next?

    Peugeot 297 or 308

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchise

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £6,295

When did you buy the car?

    January 2007

Did you get a good deal and why?

Think I got a relatively good deal - only 18 months old when purchased, 14,000 miles on the clock and had been owned by Peugeot. All paintwork, upholstry and mechanics/electrics tip top condition.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

My first car - wanted something small, manageable and with low running costs. It's aso Sahara Yellow so is easy to find in a car park!

    What was the dealer like?

Dealers were very good - no pressure.

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Love driving my little car...it's nippy, has excellent brakes, firm seats (good for those with poor posture - despite criticism from other reviwers). Acceleration is instant and you feel in control of the speed. I've driven the 307 version which seems sluggish.

    What's it like to park?

Parking is not a problem, large back window gives good views of the rear. Given it's petite size - it can fit into some tiny spaces!

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

Initially, there were no problems. In the last 6 months, the front passenger wheel has developed a squeak and a 'twitter' - which only stops when the break is applied. This sound is annoying and cannot be drowned out by increasing the music volume! It is a problem which has baffled my local mechanic who hs removed the wheel to 'remove the dirt build-up' but yet it continues. This 'twitter' is, according to some Peugeot websites, a common problem!

What's most practical about your car?

Running costs are relatively low. The amount of space, and what it can accommodate is pretty impressive - I was able to fit a dismantled double bed (minus the matress)and three-drawer cupboard into the boot with the seats down.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Air Conditioning - suffer from hayfever and it's a life-saver!
