Economy
Value
Most seem available at much less than book price and in my view are better value than their competitors.
Costs
Only had to buy a rear wiper blade from dealer, surprisingly cheap.

On the road
Driving
Pleasant to drive, but quite different to previous diesels I've owned - less engine braking than you'd expect steering is fairly sharp, i.e. a little movement goes a long way, but still precise and comfortable.
Performance
Great on motorways - but glad I hunted down a 110, the 90bhp must be quite sluggish but you wouldn't buy one of these (a 406 diesel estate) if you wanted sports performance, would you?

Reliability
... But speculative, based on a long experience of both Peugeot & Citroen. None have ever died on me, though I've done my share of work on the older ones.

Compared to a Skoda, dead cool for a 45 yr old short, fat & bald bloke like me.
Comfort
Despite comments elsewhere saying seats not comfy, I find them quite the opposite - certainly better than my two previous cars, a Saab and a Citroen.

As above, way better than previous cars, can deadlock the doors for a start.

I bought from Olympic Cars in Stroud, a Peugeot main dealer. They were excellent to deal with, agreed a very reasonable price in a pleasant fashion, did a lovely job of prepping the car and were generally just nice people to deal with.

... And you'll only be comfortable in 5th at 50+. In the ZX I could potter around in 4th everywhere.
