Type of dealer you bought from?

    Didn't buy from a dealer

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £550

When did you buy the car?

    July 2013

Did you get a good deal and why?

I've paid more for a 1994 VW polo coupe 1.05 which had a few problems as well as rust. This car has hardly any rust and everything works fine. I haggled £100 off the asking price. It is a very solid car for its age and should last a few years at least. I drive fairly conservatively so it won't be thrashed about.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Cheap, reasonable condition for age, economical, ride quality.

    What was the dealer like?

    What's it like to drive?

The ride quality is quite good for a small 90s car, especially compared to my previous small cars from the same era; vw polo coupes...The handling is fine. It rolls a fair bit but not so much that it's dangerous around corners. It holds the road exceptionally well on the motorway and cruises comfortably with not too much engine noise. It is not particularly nippy but adequate. There's enough power for when you need it. I find the driving position uncomfortable however as you can't adjust the steering wheel and the pedals are too close together for me. It is a nice car to drive once you get used to it. Perhaps not as fun to drive as a peugeot 106, citroen saxo or ford fiesta but the ride quality is much better than most small cars of its era.

    What's it like to park?

    Easy.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

The wipers weren't working properly (no intermittent) but this cost me £2 to fix as it was just a 10 amp blade fuse. I did sort of break the fuse box trying to open it.

What's most practical about your car?

5 doors, electric windows and mirrors, spacious boot for size and easy to park.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

    Nice analog clock :).
