With the scrappage, Yes.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

This was actually a '96 bought in Ireland. Only reason it was purchased was that there was a scrappage scheme in Ireland at the time and I think it was the cheapest new car in the country. Also the car I scrapped had broken down and was financially unrepairable.

What was the dealer like?

Same as they all are.

What's it like to drive?

It moved, well sorta. When you turned the steering wheel it went in that general direction. Plenty of time to compensate steering as the 3 cylinder 996cc engine was not particularly quick.

What's it like to park?

Easy.

Have you had any problems with the car?

After 150,000 motorway miles(odometer only went to 99,000 then reset) universal joint snapped. Wasn't worth fixing, 2nd hand car made more sense.

What's most practical about your car?

It's always started and got me where I needed to go.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

It was a '96 Alto. Was lucky to have a radio and speedo. Think it may have had a spare wheel.
