Toyota Yaris Cross SUV 1.5 Hybrid Excel 5dr CVT Owner Review

Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
It is a Toyota. It delivers sprightly enough performance, almost entertaining handling and truly outstanding fuel economy. Ride quality and road noise are not great but acceptable for the price. But it is impossible to take a journey without being irritated by the woeful ergonomics and under-developed features. If you want a basic, undemanding vehicle you may be delighted by an entry level Yaris Cross but if you desire a more luxurious spec (steering heating, adaptive speed control, automated parking, a phone app and such) I recommend that you look elsewhere. Toyota wasn’t bothered to develop them properly and you should not give them your money.
Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
This appears to be a modern car but it is not. The ergonomics are terrible with, for example, key controls at the driver’s right knee where I cannot read them unless the vehicle is stopped and preferably with the door open. Then there are features such as the automated parking and that do not work as they should. And, in common with most new cars, it never stops bonging. It is just that in some it is relatively easy to turn the racket off. Not so with the Yaris.
