    Value

    3 out of 5 3.0

£12500 new is a bit steep. Second hand prices are fair, though you may have to search for a bargain. You do get electric windows/mirrors, air con, CD player and a nifty central computer that tells you time, outside temperature and audio details.

    Costs

    4 out of 5 4.0

Running cost appears average. Guzzles slighty more petrol than most, but probably because I drive it like the sportscar it is. Part costs are same as most other manufacturers.

  • On the road

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

Slighty harsher than most new cars, but it is the sport model and this is what you have to expect. The ride is pretty quiet but due to the close ratio gearbox it can be a louder ride than famiy cars.

    Performance

    5 out of 5 5.0

Not extremely fast, but very rapid. Can out-accelerate most cars on the road. It is the fastest car in its inurance group. Handling is great although a little light and it can feel as if you are taking off when punching it in 1st and 2nd.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

Japanese quality. Toyota have a good reputation for reliablity. Second only to Honda. Nothing has gone wrong yet, and nothing probably will.

Most people laughed when I said I was getting a Yaris. This Yaris, however, will turn heads. It looks fab and everyone I know agrees. A lot of people were surprised how good it actually did look. Very smart car.

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Very comfortable seats. Driver seat also has height adjustment. The steering column can also be raised and lowered. Air con makes for a comfortable ride on hot days. Legroom in the rear is not too bad with rear seats slid back.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    5 out of 5 5.0

Good security system. Ability to turn the interior sensor on or off, and there is even the ability to double lock the doors (a second lock that is inaccessible - so keeps doors locked even if normal locks are hacked). Alarm is loud.

    Service

    3 out of 5 3.0

My local dealer is not too interested in a 19 year old scruff like me.
