Didn't buy from a dealer

When did you buy the car?
Did you get a good deal and why?
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
It's Nugget Yellow, which I've wanted since I was 15 and my neighbour had a Yellow 16V. I have later found out that the Nugget G60 is super rare, as only 28 were sold in the UK. It is thought that only 11 are still on our roads!
What was the dealer like?
What's it like to drive?
The drive is firm, but very rewarding on decent roads. Standard suspension is far too high, so a lowering kit is a must. With high quality tyres, grip is amazing and very controlled. Driving through town can be a rough ride, but the car has a great image. As long as you don't mind everyone staring at you, saying 'Wow, look at that car!'.
What's it like to park?
Rear visibility is fairly poor and it is difficult to see the wheels. Use the electric mirrors to prevent kurbing your alloys.
Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Handbrake mechanism on rear calipers is a very poor design and is prone to seizing. Mk3 Golf is a direct swap or Mk4 with new brake hoses. Sails through MOT's without any problems.
What's most practical about your car?
Seats four adults in relative comfort and still goes like a jet engined go kart.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
The pop up spoiler that goes up at 45mph. MFA (Dash Computer) is amazing and shows so many useful features, with many more hidden ones too!
