What does this car say about you?

I probably liston to Radio 4 and drive in the middle lane of the motorway. At 30mph.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Friends do struggle to believe it is a Volvo. They like the style and the comfort of the car.

Would you buy this car again and why?

NO!!! The running costs are too high. Traded it in against another new Volvo but the trade in at 44k miles was only £14,200. Shame as it was still in "as new" condition. So it depreciates rapidly.

What are you likely to buy next?

Just bought another Volvo saloon car but this will be my last Volvo.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchise

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £24,500

When did you buy the car?

    February 2008

Did you get a good deal and why?

After looking at the paper work, I have decided it was not a good deal. Dealer tried to trip me up with part exchange value. They are also good at not giving you the starting price for the car instead asking you what you can afford to pay thus giving them an oportunity to "up" the starting price.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Traded in an S60 for a car with a bigger load capacity.

    What was the dealer like?

Del boy in a ground floor flat! Since gone bankrupt and closed down.

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

The 185psi D5 engine is very responsive, steering is light at speed, not too heavy at slow cornering. Car will wallow about when taking sharp corners. Usual Volvo comfort in the seats. Very poor fuel consumption. Average of 32mpg on a run and much worse around town. Front tires replaced every 12,000 miles. Rears at 20,000.

    What's it like to park?

Its a big car. Reverse parking is easier if you can use your mirrors. Nose is very long and this can be problematic until you get used to it. However, it is made easier being an estate with glass all round the back.
