What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Part of the family It was a sad day when the 'old barge' moved onto pastures new. Local mechanic will fix the clutch and continue to run it as a spare.
Would you buy this car again and why?
No. Unfortunately these cars are now too long in the tooth. Hats off to those still keeping them alive - Classic example of German over-engineering. Mine only had 165,000 miles (18 years old) when I moved it on. Have seen these with 250,000+ miles.
What are you likely to buy next?
Replacement already arrived. Didn't stray far...Audi A6 Avant 1.9 TDI SE (PD 130 engine is superb - Remains the best diesel engine VAG have ever made).

What's it like to drive?
Won't win any races off the lights (But it wasn't designed for that purpose) The legendary 1.9 TDI engine code 1Z lump (90BHP) has plenty of low down torque for everyday driving. Excellent for eating up the French Autoroutes and German Autobahns.

Have you had any problems with the car?
Cracked headlight, rear washer motor, power steering pump, oil pressure sensor, door handle cable Diesel pump - Well documented fault, replaced this at a fraction of the price - Only required changing of the electronics on the top of the pump. Most servicing done by myself with the help of the haynes manual (Tip: Use the original A6 manual).
What's most practical about your car?
Space - Get all Uni kit and bikes in, dump run, mucky younger brother and his mates after football practice Lazy motorway cruising. 50mpg winter, 55mpg summer.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Not exactly loaded with with extras - Less to go wrong. How about aftermarket stereo with aux input?
