Other Audi A1 (2010 - 2018) models:

  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

    Young, affluent, badge snob...

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They are impressed by the Audi quality (they are all Ford and Renault drivers...).

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes, no regrets. Didn't need a huge car and this fits the bill according to my current needs.

What are you likely to buy next?

    Bit bigger, perhaps an A3.

  • Buying experience

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchised

Did you buy this car new?

    Yes

    What price did you pay?

    £17,200

When did you buy the car?

    May 2013

Did you get a good deal and why?

Was reasonable, added a few extras which pushed the price up a bit but no regrets.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

    Previous car was rubbish.

    What was the dealer like?

Usual sales pitch and pushiness. To be expected in a car sales environment. Just have your wits about you and read the smallprint!

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Very smooth drive, I love the slick gearchanges. Excellent acceleration in 3rd and 4th gears and nippy in town (many motorists don't expect it in a small Audi). Good on motorway, the 6th gear helps for cruising.

    What's it like to park?

OK - although a small car, the rear sticks out slightly and its sometimes difficult to determine how close you are when parallel parking. Front bonnet slopes downwards to a vanishing point so difficult to assess how close you are in front too. There are other smaller cars that are easier to park in my opinion. But as with all cars, you will get used to it.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

No (fingers crossed it stays that way!).

What's most practical about your car?

You don't get an A1 for practicality....

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Armrest (sounds boring but I need it for motorway driving!).
