In their own words

The A1 competition is fantastic fun. The 2 litre turbo engine packs a 200bhp punch and twinned with the s-tronic gearbox it’s a great package. The front wheels can struggle to get the power down in the wet but it’s completely predictable in all conditions and the short wheel base with the electronic steering gives you great feedback. Fuel economy isn’t great on the whole. I average around 28 mpg but can easily achieve 45+ on a long run. Insurance is comparatively high for the size of car, although the 1.5 litre engine is much more affordable if you don’t mind a little less performance. Equipment levels are excellent for the size of car with touch screen controls, USB B and C ports, wireless charging and the full LCD virtual cockpit is a stunner! Build quality is a little less Audi and more VW but that’s to be expected, having said that, the seats are excellent and really supportive. Rear leg room is tight for adults but fine for kids and the boot is a really good size. Overall we’re thrilled with the car, it’s our second one now. I do miss the Quattro system from previous cars but I’d recommend this to anyone.
