Go independant, forget main dealers.

Absolutely fantastic, really tractable power delivery and cornering.
Performance
Brilliant, just as quick as my 306 GTi but felt more stable on the road.

Reliability
Dashboard computer display can fade when warm, bulletproof car. Get the cambelt changed though, IRO £1K to repair head if it snaps, get waterpump and rollers done at the same time.

Better than a Golf but more understated and less on the road, personally I liked that combination.
Comfort
Go for leather and aircon if you can find it. I'm 6' 2"" and 15 Stone and was comfy.
