Audi A3 Sportback (2013 - 2020) 2.0 TDI S Line (Nav) 5d S Tronic Owner Review

Purchased at 19k miles/2 years old to supplement a Volvo V40 SELUX D3 simply in order to go automatic & with a hatchback boot big enough to fit a border collie (slightly bigger than a Golf). Having fulfilled these basic criteria & after a further 17k miles/ 2 1/2 years, the results are: Positives : Build quality, reliability, fuel economy & service costs. Negatives: Harsh suspension, noisy ride (with 18" wheels) ,& less (than expected) comfortable front seats. Main drawbacks relate to the lack of contemporary standard equipment: TFT/Driver safety aids/ Adaptive Cruise Control/ Heated Seats & screen/ Infotainment & Satnav facilities . We were left with a feeling that the value for money factor fell short of expectations so, after 15 months, we updated the Volvo to an Inscription D3 auto & now run the A3 as a secondary car.
