BMW 3-Series Convertible (2007 - 2013) 325i M Sport 2d Auto Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
Smooth, and quiet and very comfortable. M Sport has hard suspension, which added to runflat tyres, create loud crashing over bumps and risk of wheel damage in potholes. The rear wheel negative camber is unnecessary and has added greatly to tyre running costs.
The wide doors make parking in supermarket spaces a tight affair. Otherwise it adapts to our lifestyle as an everyday car, with some patience to adapt it according to needs ranging from shoppamobile to draught free sunmobile and 4 passenger carrier, to heavily-loaded trailer puller. (You can't have them all at once though)
The cruise control and powerful engine maintain speed in any conditions.
Over its 16 year life the only things that have deteriorated are the rubber windscreen seals, front and back. All other maintenance has been pretty routine, though the limited vision of the close surrounds and low ground clearance have contributed to several bumps and scrapes.
How reliable do you find the car?
My only complaints concern the uneven tyre wear which continues to erode the inside edge of the rear tyres. Although I have had the camber checked and adjusted and increased the tyre pressures to 3bar, they still only last under 8-10k miles with gentle driving.
Also, the central warning system keeps popping up with dire warnings (False) possibly the system is susceptible to damp/condensation when left outside. It resolves itself in fine weather.
Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
One of life's great pleasures.
