Value
Loads of examples to choose from now. If your prepared to travel you could find a bargain. Prices are cheaper than you may think. A nice alternative to the Mondeo's or Vectra's.
Costs
Insurance is reasonable. Full consumption around 35 mpg. A car this age should really be going to a specialist and not a franchised dealership - you'll only be paying for the nice plants in reception.

The ultimate driving machine. Classic sports car layout, front engine and rear wheel drive make for great handling.

A highly responsive engine for the size. Very capable, lacks a little top end grunt.
