    Value

Excellent value. I live in the south, but bought the car in Manchester. Saved about £1500. Has all mod cons.

    Costs

    3 out of 5 3.0

More expensive than my previous cars to run, but more worth it. I like to drive my car as hard as the next bloke. It is worth buying an extra warranty so you are not left with any harsh bills.

    Driving

    5 out of 5 5.0

Great driving position. Safe driving. Centre armrest is a must in the front. A huge step in build quality from my last car (Escort). Great arse-out action.

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Very responsive. Quick off the mark for a big motor. Plenty of potential to increase BHP. Beats most hot hatches. Great pull up to 140mph. Car currently running 230bhp. Easy-to-control car.

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

Very reliable. Just passed its MOT again on its 8th year. No rust. Just some small scratches here and there. Strong German engineering.

    Image

    3 out of 5 3.0

Cheaper than ever now, so go for a bigger engine. 325 runs 192bhp coupe. Good image. Still looks classy. Play around with kits to make it individual. Still sought after car.

    Comfort

    5 out of 5 5.0

Great driving position. Suprising lack of room in the back for a big car. Leather heated seats.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    4 out of 5 4.0

BMWs after 1994 come with insurance-approved alarm systems. Total closure, perimeter alarm set up, but if they want to get in, they will (like any car). Not easy to steal, though.
