Value
You can get a high spec used low mileage car from BMW but be prepared to move quickly.
Costs
Servicing rates seem reasonable. Mine was just serviced by BMW & is due for an old service in around 14,000 miles. It will drink the petrol if you drive it hard, but its worth every penny.

Driving
The ride is much better than expected, you hear too many reviews moaning about large wheel, sport suspension combination. Yes its firm but also very smooth and forgiving.
Performance
Goes like a rocket when you want it to, speed is deceptive because its so smooth.
