Bought in November, standard car cost £3200.

    Costs

    3 out of 5 3.0

Use independent dealer as main dealers very expensive for car of its age. Shouldn't loose huge amounts, but beware new 3 Series out soon !!!

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

Very good driving position, seat not as supportive as others on longer drives though.

    Performance

    5 out of 5 5.0

Very good performer, fast acceleration, superb on motorways, 100mph at 3500 revs ! with 25+ mpg !! what more do you want?! Straight six is superb, worthwhile spending the initial extra over buying a 318 as 318 feels underpowered and strained at speed.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    3 out of 5 3.0

Good for car of its age, although engine did overcook when sitting in traffic jam, not expected !!!

    Image

    4 out of 5 4.0

Still a classic car, lot of modified ones about, with M3 extras etc, best to keep eye on standard ones as they tend to have been looked after more.

    Comfort

    3 out of 5 3.0

Rear leg room is tight, headroom is adequate for most, seats could be more supportive.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    4 out of 5 4.0

R/C/L Alarm came as standard, not as tempting to thieves as once were, but ensure alarm is installed to keep your car !
