Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

For my daily commute replacing my old Japanese turbo 4 banger that would struggle to get above 20mpg it was impeccable, on the motorway cruising is effortless, the torque past 1500rpm is a delight to use and has made long trips an absolute breeze done a few trips from Sussex to Manchester and to Cornwall and arrive no worse for wear. I bought the car to serve as a nice functional daily with some good grunt and some chuckability for B roads, being the touring it's not a patch on my old Celica GT4 I used to daily but still pleasantly enjoyable although what BMW were doing not offering a Limited Slip Differential on these I'll never know. It suits me and my partner and our rather large dog down to the ground, have had it 4 up and had no complaints on space from passengers all 5'8+ although 5 people would probably be a squeeze. If you're looking to buy one I'd definitely look at the later generation (02+ iirc) as they have the higher hp (204 compared to 184) and take more easily to tuning if that's what you're after and they come in a 6 speed manual if you're that way inclined. Also the msport front bumper does definitely improve the front end significantly and is something I'm looking to purchase once I've had an exhaust made for her.

How reliable do you find the car?

Gearbox locked itself in second and had to replace it to the tune of £600 plus a weekend of labour to replace it, apart from that it's been impeccable but was a worry seeing as it's common for people to use these gearboxes in high spec drift cars spending hours at double/triple the horsepower smashing off limiter yet mine let's go in slow moving traffic :(

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

The perfect daily for me, my partner and our large dog, easily seats 4 people could do 5 but wouldn't want to do a long trip that crammed in
