Nice car, jealous that they don't have one.

    Subaru Outback, Skoda Octavia Scout

Did you get a good deal and why?

The dealer made us a good P/X rate for our old and cut us a deal on a service package.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Had a 1 series before this and needed a bigger car.

    What was the dealer like?

The dealer was exceptionally good, every and any questions we had were answered even if he had to go away and find some one who knew the answer. There was no feeling of pressure or rushing the buying procedure and we were always looked after.

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Drive is pretty good, cruises nicely at 70mph in UK and easily above in Germany. The automatic gear box does reduce power slightly but it is not an underpowered engine! Relaxed driving all round I would say.

    What's it like to park?

Fairly easy to park with the rear parking sensors. The bonnet is easy to see for any one in the 6 foot region.

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

The turbo failed 4 months after the warranty had run out at 54k on the clock. Turbo issues are a common thing on pre 04 models, that is why I spent a bit more to get the revised 06 engine. BMW did not really want to know about it and offered to pay 50% parts which left me a big bill to pay! After kicking up a stink, they offered me a deal where I pay less but receive no warranty on parts or labor.

What's most practical about your car?

It's an automatic so it's easy in traffic and around town. It also loves the motorway where it just eats the miles with ease!

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

No added gadgets as BMW charge through the nose for these.
