In their own words

Followed a catastrophic Passat GTE, so the bar was set so low it only had to get me out of the office car park to impress.

Built like the proverbial outhouse and specced like one too but with X Drive, it’s a great Q car, the acceleration is a real party piece, it probably has the legs of our M2 Competition off the line (to about 30mph….) Economy is genuinely good even when running just combustion - I’ve seen 53mpg and even thrashing it in the hills around here rarely seems to elicit less than 40mpg.

One negative is the stopping power: I’m not sure if it’s the brakes or the tyres (it came with 17” Hankook tyres), but it has real trouble bringing proceedings to a halt, I should have specced an M Sport, but really didn’t want the attention in the company car park and at home.

The family have named it “the flying elephant” and this sums it up well.
