In their own words

The BMW I drive is a company car which I received as a pool car when I started with the company I work for. I was meant to use it until I ordered a new company car, it had 22, 000 miles on the clock it is now on 93,000 and was a few months old when I started using it, I liked it so much that I asked if I could keep it as my perm company car and not order a new one which was agreed. Because of coronovirus our car leases were extended by a year, so it is approaching 5 years old. I am considering purchasing at the end of its term as it has been such a good car and our company car offer is changing. I have been looking for owner reviews for reliability of older, higher mileage bmws of the same model and can't find any, so thought I would let you know my experience of an older, higher mileage car. Background, the car has been well looked after, fsh through BMW, the gap between recommended servicing is big from memory 24,000 miles or 12 months, the car starts giving you a notification on its display a few thousand miles before it is due. Its also not been ragged and rallied. Yes for sure its nice to whack it into sports mode to overtake a row of cars on a straight or just because you want a little excitement. I am a tight ar*e though so like to keep my mpg at a decent level it's at 49mpg, I've noticed a drop from a steady 51mpg not sure if that is due to the car getting older. I generally drive out of the 3 choices in comfort mode, mostly motorway miles. When you slip from ECOdrive to sport mode you can tell the difference immediately, it turns into a completely different car. It goes from a slightly sluggish drive to a sharp, tight, reactive one, the difference in the 3 options are hugely noticeable. Now for reliability, the car has been very reliable. The only problem I have had is the automatic boot which broke, it took 2 attempts to fix it as the cable that was sent on the first fix was faulty. Apart from that, and I hope I'm not giving myself the kiss of death by saying this, it has been problem free. Cost of bmw service I am unsure of as I don't pay. If I buy it I want to keep it for another 3 years which will put about another 60 to 80, 000 on the clock. In summary from my experience with this car, it has been great family sports car with a big boot. We have driven it to the South of France with a roofbox and family of 4 and back again last year no issues, lots of comfortable motorway driving, the body work is in A1 shape and the interior has stood the test of time with x2 kids car seats fitted in it.
