Love BMW diesels. This is my 4th. Wanted a Euro6 engine after having to pay environment charge in Antwerp for Euro3 engine in e39! Like the luxury feel and silence. Sport setting is good on winding roads. This car has some nice extras, soft closing doors, TV, Prof Sat Nav, heated rear seats. No rear camera. Essential that you get rear camera. Very blind to reverse if your not used to mirror parking. Family spread around UK so lots of fetching and carrying. Wonderful car for us.
How reliable do you find the car?
Air suspension had strange problem at first. Found it myself on the self leveling pump. Bleed needle was sticking and would let the car right down. Once located some WD40 sorted it out. Had the BMW exhaust gas recall done and been perfect since. Car well out of warranty at that time but still cost us nothing inc courtesy car.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
My 4th 5series. Previous 3 e39 diesels. All 3 did well over 200k miles. Last 2 were tourers and planned another. On inspection they seemed a boring choice again. This GT seemed very exciting and has more room and is a real luxury ride. Initially fuel consumption was poor, mid 30s at best. Put Pirellis on it last November and economy has jumped to well over 40mpg. Run flat tyres are almost silent now compared to previous BridgestonesAbout their car
