What does this car say about you?

I have lowered my standards. I wanted to buy a 730d or XJ Diesel, but have heard some horror stories about reliability, especially electrics on both.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They seem to like it - they can have it if they want it I can't wait to trade it.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Never - it is unrefined and not comfortable. This 5 series is totally over rated.

What are you likely to buy next?

730d, S class or XJ Tdi - no more sensibile compromises like this 5 series. I would but an LS430 (fantastic car) if petrol wasn't so expensive and i didn't do 400-500 miles a week.

What's it like to drive?

Not great - ride quality is awful and the run flat tyres are an absolute disaster, the worst mistake ever by BMW!!! (the damn things are expensive also......) Seats are hard and not at all comfortable on a long journey Refinement is not great, good economy though The most disappointing car I have ever bought. I has 2 previous 5 series (528i's)and they were vastly superior cars - really solid, comfortable and refined. I just wish I could have my old S class back.

Have you had any problems with the car?

No, it is reliable Smile on my face? - NO - I just grin and bear it. I can't believe a 730d is so good to drive and this 520d is so awful - hard to believe they are made by the same company.
