BMW 6-Series Coupe (2004 - 2010) 630i Sport 2d Auto Owner Review

Owned my 630i sport 4 years now and still enjoy the ownership experience. I had a few minor issues when I purchased it, auto gearbox sump gasket was weeping, had it replaced. A rear wheel bearing needed replacing. Needed a new battery after numerous idrive messages re: excess battery discharge. Most recent issue was a blocked PCV due to the constant very short journeys I do. Being retired, the car is mainly used to get to/from the gym, which is a mile each way. So these cars do need to be used harder regularly to keep them healthy. Lesson learned.
Overall the car still does all I need, comfortable, excellent build quality, powerful enough with the 3L N52. My car only has 84k miles with a full BMW history. The only irritating issue is the VED cost for an ‘06.. of almost £600/year.. where an ‘05 is half that! Given my mileage each year, I would much prefer that VED was put on the fuel or mileage you cover. That would be so much more fair.
