In their own words

It's a surprisingly small car when parked next to other SUV's although plenty of room inside. Boot size was more than adequate for me, with rear seats down I've had numerous bits of kitchen, flooring and building materials in there. 2.0 petrol engine is more than powerful enough for overtaking, you have to remember its not a low slung car so easing off on corners is advised despite it being 4x4. Handling in the winter is very good but I put winter tyres on for added reassurance (I live in North East Scotland). Reliability has been 100%, had a servicing pack thrown in when I bought the car so cannot comment on servicing prices. The only thing that for me let the car down is the gear selector but I knew this when I bought the car, I went from a 3 series with sport auto to the X1 auto and the selector was a bit 'old school' with physical movement. I beleive this was rectified with a model update not long after I bought mine (my car was pre built and BMW were discounting it to the tune of £6000, I'm guessing as the updated model was imminent). Get a 2018 model (auto) and you can't go far wrong with an X1 in my opinion.
