In their own words

This car is fantastic. Too many positives to list but if I had to name a few then it would be acceleration, handling and comfort (heated seats a must in a convertible). The car also looks classic and has hardly dated. It's simply a beautiful machine especially in gun metal grey. A word of warning though. The radiator expansion tank (plastic) split on a long journey which lead to catastrophic engine overheating and a £700 bill. I was a hair's whisker from losing both the engine and the car. My advice: l would get it replaced on any used, older Z4 irrespective of what it looks like. BMW told me it was a common, albeit serious problem. A replacement expansion tank only costs £60 or so.... The seating position also makes a profound difference to the 'feel' of the car (higher up is far better than low down), whilst a good set of proper tyres (e.g. Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 3) is essential. All told it's been a blast and the kids love it, even if l have to take them out one at a time!
