Lot of car for the money. Electric windows, sunroof, mirrors.
Costs
Recently bought, so not sure about costs, but fuel consumption surprisingly good for a 1.8.

Secure handling, smooth gear change, nippy performance. Acceleration from 50 to 70 in fifth very brisk.
Performance
Pretty nippy in all gears, but not a sportscar.

No problems as yet and they are noted for their reliability.

Slightly dull looking, but not too common and usually arouse more interest than your average Escort.
Comfort
Seats are firm and supportive, and wheel and seat can be adjusted to suit nearly everyone. Lots of room in the footwell and huge accelerator pedal. Visibility generally good but drivers side mirror seems to magnify the view and you can't see an awful lot.
