  • Summary

    3 out of 5 3.0

What does this car say about you?

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

A Cruiser will always turn headers, but it's difficult to say whether there are more people who love them than hate them. Mother adored it. Wife ordered me to sell it day after I got it.

Would you buy this car again and why?

No. It was nice to drive around for 15 months of motoring, but it's not the most manoeverable of cars and I had lots of niggly things go wrong. Also thirstier than most diesels of equivalent size.

What are you likely to buy next?

    Volvo V70.

    March 2006

Did you get a good deal and why?

OK, but could have done better...

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

    Loved the look!

    What was the dealer like?

V nice at first, except when problems developed five months later. Then they didn't want to know. A letter to trading standards was needed to change their minds.

  • Driving it

    3 out of 5 3.0

    What's it like to drive?

Great on motorway and very comfortable for long distances. Huge amount of room for driver and front seat passenger. Good mid-range acceleration. Not the quietest of engines, and you can expect wind noise.

    What's it like to park?

Very awkward. The turning circle must be close to that of a battleship. Also difficult to judge length at front.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

Ball joint worn, needed replaced. Bleed nipple seized. Problems with Air Con pipe snapped. Problems with steering shaft.

What's most practical about your car?

Very roomy. Back seats can be removed completely, effectively turning it into a van.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

    Chrome wheels were very nice.
