What does this car say about you?

I'm a free thinker that enjoys fine things...! From comments of others in the motoring trade the DS4 seems to be a hidden gem.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

People always seems to want to chat about it, there seems to be a growing recognition of the DS cars as a brand. The main comments are very + about its style and quality. Its seen as a premium competitor but with heart and soul.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes....although the DS5 could intrest me. This car really makes me smile and is one of those cars you keep finding yourself turning back to look at in the car park.

What are you likely to buy next?

From my current experience a DS. The size/model will depend upon my needs at the time.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchised

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £17,000

When did you buy the car?

    August 2012

Did you get a good deal and why?

I felt I got a good deal with the spec of car and millage.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I wanted a stylish car that delivered quality, pace and economy but didn't want a boring car that fitted in with the herd! (so no BMWs, Golfs or Audis!).

    What was the dealer like?

Very friendly and profesional, they were not pushy but made me feel like a valued customer.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

I have the 2.0HDI and it flies and seems to have amazing economy of over 50+mpg when used on long runs. Very easy to live with yet when you want fun it delivers! I was also worried about the ride comfort of the 19 inch wheels, but as a previous Honda Civic owner the ride is far better than the Civic, with smaller wheels it must be like a magic carpet ride! I thought I might swop but the 19 inch alloys just look so good!

    What's it like to park?

The compact size means you can fit in where others can't. With the front and rear sensors parking is realy easy. A bigger rear wipper would be good....but still better than the Civic!

Have you had any problems with the car?

Nothing has gone wrong. Having bought and run a Citroen from new for the last 30,000 miles it had been fault free, never let me down once and delivered 48+mpg. It has put my previous experience with VW/Honda in the shade, which wasn’t what I was fully expecting or led to believe if you read the motoring press.

What's most practical about your car?

Considered as an alternative to a coupe or 'style' car it has good boot space, lots of space for odds and sods (drawers under front seats etc) and the slightly raised ride height means your bum is not on the floor, so after SUVs it's still easy to get in and out of!

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The blind spot monotoring system is really good and sat nav is easy to use. Good sound quality of hifi. But in everyday use, its silly things like the height adjustible arm rest that makes the difference!
