If there was a new saxo now yes but not really due to age of the range now.

Looking back not really - price was a little high! Why had I not discovered Parkers online then!?!

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

My wife liked the colour! Seriously it was a reasonably cheap car with five doors and nice to drive. Looked virtually brand new when I bought it at six years old!

What's it like to drive?

When I first got it it was fab! after the head gasket blew still passed muster but ceased to be simply a pleasure. 1.1 but motorway driving was no probs - used to regularly do 7 hour journeys in it!

fine

Have you had any problems with the car?

head gasket blew and was never the same despite being 'fixed'! exhaust back box has gone several times in two years! apart from that no complaints!

What's most practical about your car?

nice to drive, looked good, fairly cheap, small, nice colour was a bonus too!

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

desire had electric windows and sunroof. Also the five doors was a big improvement on the old polo three doors!
