What does this car say about you?

Yes the body kit does turn heads but i'm never sure if thats because they like the car or they think i must be a knob. I once went to get some food late after work in Reading town centre and I was sat in my car waiting for my food and a group of lads walked by and one stopped, looked at the car then looked at me and said "you're a right twat you are. You drive some little boy racer car and you think it's well great but it's shit." I was just eatting some food and minding my own business. So be prepared to be the victim of random drunken abuse.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They all like it and are surprized by how fast it is.

Would you buy this car again and why?

No. It's a very good car far town driving and back roads but I do a lot of motorway miles and I want to cruise comfortably at 90-100. Buy it if you enjoy driving and do less than 10,000 miles a year.

What are you likely to buy next?

Sadly i'm getting a diesel. Either a golf or alfa 156.

Only had 9,000 miles on the clock when i bought it.

Cheap to run. Fun useable performance.

What's it like to drive?

Best described as nippy, quite a torquey for an 8v. However i find 3rd a little weak. Very direct, responsive steering. You get plenty of feedback through the wheel which is great but sometimes a little unwanted over poor surfaces and there is torque steer from a spirited charge off the lights. The handling is sublime, the car corners very upright with little roll. The ride is excellent for a small car even fully laden at 80mph plus. On the motorway the VTR is sucked in by lorries due to it's light weight and feels a little unsafe over 90mph though still better than expected. Its will cruise well at 70mph. Revs quite highly at cruising speed and quite a bit of tyre roar. Overall handles better than my previous Golf V6 4Motion and is more fun though not as fast or refined.

What's it like to park?

Great visibility, very easy to park.

Have you had any problems with the car?

The car has been very reliable though the build quality doesn't inspire confidence.

What's most practical about your car?

Cheap insurance and I get 310+ miles from a £30 tank. VTR has a decent boot for a small car. It will carry the shopping and most day to day loads. I can fit golf clubs in the back but i need to put the woods on the back seat. Any bigger loads and the seats fold flat.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Doesn't really have many gadgets. Nice glow from the dials at night. Would have liked ABS.
