Bought second hand for £3k, 42k miles - no problems since (apart from some scalleys in Stafford snapping the aerial).
Costs
Good, cheap non-dealer servicable as it's an astra 1.4.

Does the job, smooth and quiet. Hits high enough speeds - quietly - to hold a spot in the fast lane.
Performance
If you rev it a bit, unloaded, it'll get away with some haste.
