Great value for money. Mine has Air con, electric windows.. heated screen. etc. All for £1500

    Costs

    3 out of 5 3.0

Ok on petrol, tyres can be had cheaply (£20 brand name) if you look around. Parts / servicing are reasonably cheap - Find a good local garage and breakers and your well away!

  • On the road

    Driving

    3 out of 5 3.0

Handles pretty well, but doesn't inspire total confidence when pushed - brakes feel weak when pushed and the front wheels will lock on a damp or wet road if you brake too late or hard!

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Ok for what it is. You get 113bhp which is the same as the newer GTI escorts, but it's a lower insurance group! Will see away most things at the lights - Pulls very well in 1st / 2nd gear if you rev it above 3.5k

It's a ford..... accept that and you won't be disapointed

    Comfort

    2 out of 5 2.0

Lots of room (I'm 6'ft 5 and get in ok), but the seats aren't the most supportive and on a long trip it can be annoying

  • Security and Service

    Security

    3 out of 5 3.0

Has a FF alarm. - Hasn't been nicked.

    Service

    1 out of 5 1.0

Second hand private buy so no service comments. Avoid expensive dealers thou - a load of big repair bills aren't gonna make a Ford more valuable on resale!

  • Problems and Ownership
