  • Economy

    Value

    3 out of 5 3.0

One of the cheapest new cars, but for the specification I think it's overpriced. The higher spec models are ridiculous money, even with the extra toys.

    Costs

    5 out of 5 5.0

No costs beyond purchase, petrol and insurance… and the odd accessory.

  • On the road

    Driving

    5 out of 5 5.0

For a tiny little car it's very impressive - that's why I bought it. I was convinced by the test-drive.

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

I love the way it corners. It is loads of fun on twisty roads, even in lousy weather, but the engine is an archaic piece of underpowered junk - I'm surprised it's even got fuel injection.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

One problem to date - fixed under waranty by replacing the Throttle Position Sensor.

    Image

    2 out of 5 2.0

Way too girly… I didn't care about image until I bought the Ka, but I had a nice big butch pickup before… God I miss it. I like the headlights though.

    Comfort

    3 out of 5 3.0

I hate the seats. They're not even height adjustable. And I detest the plastic backs on them. It is quite roomy though in the front. Oh, but the standard radio made me miserable. I HAD to replace it.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    2 out of 5 2.0

I gave it a lousy rating beacause it doesn't have an alarm, or even central locking. I could get into it with a wire coat hanger if I ever locked the keys inside…

    Service

    5 out of 5 5.0

Pretty good. All niggles have been fixed without argument.

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

Throttle Position Sensor went funny. Engine was over-revving like crazy when gearing down…

    Other

High mount brakelight - didn't work until I pressed the pedal halfway when it was new.
