• Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

That you know more about motoring than most and do not buy PR nonsense. Design classic that is 100% better than the new Mini. Lacks headroom interior spca of modern small cars but is stronger in every way - it a normal sized car with the front and back lopped off so driver and passenger are fine. Rear space and brakes are the only week spots.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They love it - Partner has Picanto - the modern rival- owned for 5 years it has every gadget going and has never missed a beat in 5 years but I still prefer the KA, especially on longer trips. Grown ups not really viable in the back.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes - Reliable, cheap, stylish looks good even at 10 years old but mostly just fun to drive.

What are you likely to buy next?

Picasso, or Kangoo - some thing that will hold two mountain bikes.

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Fantastic, engaging and rewarding. Reminds me of original Mini but with PAS. Engine feels very strong - will hold 90mph with ease (in Europe of course) Some reviews call it "nippy" and that sums it up. Last car was a BMW 316i and this feels as quick.

    What's it like to park?

If you can't park one of these you should not be driving.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

Not a thing - bought it with 10k miles and it now has 26k. Been all over UK. Last week a 500 mile journey over two days. Never had breakdown recovery.

What's most practical about your car?

Small size, strong engine great handling.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

No gadgets this is pure motoring not driving. No air con, electric windows, CD player, central locking, 5th seat. All the better for it - wish more were like this.
