    Very little I would imagine.

Would you buy this car again and why?

    Never.

Audi Quattro 2.0 TDI 170 A3 Sportback if I can afford it - if not then Vauxhall Astra SRI 150 1.9 CDTI.

    £9,600

When did you buy the car?

    January 2005

Did you get a good deal and why?

A deal (not what I would call 'good') as they wanted to clear the showroom for new plates, it had 11 delivery miles.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Wife chose it, she liked her existing 1.3 Ka but fancied something a little quicker.

    What was the dealer like?

They did their job and were pleasant.

  • Driving it

    What's it like to drive?

Nippy, plenty of power - but it is one of the thirstiest cars I have had in 22 years.

    What's it like to park?

Small, which makes it easy. But the bodywork, suspension and alloys mean it has an appalling turning circle - on a par with a Mitsubishi Shogun I once had.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

AC packed-up 3 years ago - quoted £500+ to fix! Alarm developed a fault - £360 to fix! Both rear springs broke, replaced for last MOT - £120. Battery has just been changed, a couple of bad patches of corrosion - but okay for a 9 year-old car.

What's most practical about your car?

It was good for my wife at the time, quick, nippy in traffic and easy to park (because it is small). Since I have been driving it every day, absolutely nothing.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
